Yesterday. Getting Out of the House

So why not post about yesterday and have 2 posts for the month of May! Thats 2 more than all the rest of 2008. woo hoo!
When the girls walked in from school yesterday, it seemed like way too nice a day to spend it on a schedule. So we went to Cool Creek, our (my) favorite outdoor place to go. And we went on a nature walk. so nice. I love walking there. I think I might have posted about getting lost there. Thats kind of easy to do, they had someone with ADD post the trail signs.

All the trails go everywhere if you believe the markers.
Except none of them actually point to the nature center.
Just away from it.
yep.
thats how you get lost.

So its a little quirky but makes it special for us locals that have been there and done that. :-)

Here are the girls checking out a place that "might" have been the place they called Crawfish City" last year at camp. They got to catch lots of them and play in the creek. very fun.
and below are some other shots while we studied nature. We had a lucky day - we saw two frogs, a squirrel, two snakes (!), racoon tracks, deer tracks, and collected some small creek-bed mussel shells and perhaps a fossil. an awesome time!
